coronavirus: latest update

current position as of  January 2021

Based on a comprehensive risk assessment of the current situation, Governors and I have concluded that it is unsafe to open Wingate Community Nursery School fully right now. Our school risk assessment is individual to our setting and takes into account a range of factors including local infection rates, availability of staff, as well as the school’s physical environment and organisation. Based upon all of this, I currently have no option but to close school to all except key worker and vulnerable children until after the February half term holiday. This period will naturally be under constant review.

This decision has not been taken lightly and we understand the difficult position that this will put many of our families in. We will do all we can to still provide childcare for key worker and vulnerable children and, depending on numbers, are looking into supporting all working families.

Please be reassured we are taking lots of precautions to make our school as Covid-19 safe as we possibly can.

We will post further coronavirus updates on this section of our website, as and when things change.
