Hannah Davison – Childcare Manager
Hannah has been the Manager of Wingate Childcare since 2018. She came to Wingate in 2013 where she worked in the rooms as a practitioner before becoming a room lead and then in 2018 became manager.
Hannah is Designated Safeguarding and Child Protection Lead.
Ellie Cadwallender – Deputy Manager
Ellie joined the team in 2018 and works alongside Hannah as well as leading the Nest room.
Helen Booth – Senior Room Lead
We first met Helen as a parent, with her children attending the Nursery School. Helen joined the team in 2016 and she leads the Branch room. She is very understanding and has a great knowledge of child development.
Charlotte Taplin – Early Years Practitioner/SENCO
Charlotte has grown with Wingate, from a Nursery child, to a student and now as a valued member of the team.
Hannah Griffiths – Early Years Practitioner
Hannah joined the team in 2018 and worked with the babies before leaving to have her little boy. After she returned Hannah moved to the Branch room where she currently works part time as a key person. Hannah is caring and considerate.
Karen Chicken – Early Years Practitioner
Karen started with us as a student in 2020 before she was offered a permanent role as an early year practitioner in 2021. She is a key person in the Branch and is passionate about her role.
Amy Donkin – Early Years Practitioner
Amy joined the team in September 2020, she has worked with the babies and now in the Branch with our two year olds.
Jess Armour – Early Years Practitioner
Jess joined the team in 2013 after attending placement in the Nursery School. She works in the Oak room as a part time key person, after returning from having time off with her little boy. Jess enjoys being outdoors and is very enthusiastic in her role.
Tracey Barker – Early Years Practitioner
Tracey joined Wingate in 2017 and works in the Oak with the rising 3 year olds. She has a love for nature, being outdoors and saving our planet.
Sara Huitson -Early Years Practitioner
Sara attended Wingate Nursery School as a child and returned later as a student, before joining the Childcare team in 2017. With a degree in art, Sara has an artistic flare and enjoys providing creative opportunities for the children. After returning from her maternity leave with her little girl, Sara now works part time, working throughout all rooms.
Sarah Gilroy – Early Years Practitioner
Sarah has worked with all ages during her time at Wingate, she currently takes care of our babies in the Nest. She has a warm and caring nature which is perfect in helping our babies to settle and feel secure.
Louise Guess – Early Years Practitioner
Louise was a student in the Childcare before gaining her qualification, a few years later, after raising her children Louise returned as a member of staff. She has experience working with a range of ages and is now working in the Nest with the babies. The experience means that Louise is understanding and can support families and children.
Laura Johns – Early Years Practitioner
Laura came to Wingate Nursery as a child and later came back as a student whilst training to be an Early Years Practitioner. As a military wife, Laura lived in America where she had her two children before returning home. She was employed in 2021 and works in the Nest with our babies, she has experience from being a parent herself and is very understanding.
Lynn Rickard – Cook
Lynn joined the team in 2012, she is a skilful cook and is passionate about offering the children high quality meals. Preparing and cooking all of the children’s delicious meals in childcare, he works together with staff and families to tailor the menus to the children’s needs.
Paddy Beels OBE – Director
As a mum of 4 grown up children, plus 2 more younger ones, grandma of 8 and now retired Headteacher of Wingate Nursery School. Paddy has lived a life with a passion for raising children. Dedicated to Childhoods spent wallowing in Nature, she has shared her thinking over many years with Early Years Educators. But her work and heart has belonged here in Wingate, and being a Director here offers the opportunity to extend involvement and commitment with this community into new directions
Becky Wood – Director
Becky Wood has been Headteacher of Wingate Community Nursery School since 2014. She came to Wingate in 1998 where she worked alongside Paddy Beels. Visits to Denmark and Northern Italy have influenced her perspective in early years.
